A.J. Brown trade talk has taken over the NFL again, and the market is moving fast. The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver remains one of the biggest names on the board, while several teams keep watching the situation closely.

New England Patriots has stayed active in the discussion, and Los Angeles was also involved before stepping back.

The price for Brown may have gone up again after the Broncos sent a haul of draft picks to Miami for Jaylen Waddle, which gave Philadelphia even more reason to push for a strong return. Enter Kansas City Chiefs as wild card.

Brown is still under contract with the Eagles after signing a three-year, $96 million deal. His current extension runs through 2029, and he would not hit free agency until 2030, per Spotrac. In 2026, his cap hit is $23,393,497, while his cash earnings for the year are $29 million.

The contract also shows how valuable he remains, with career earnings already above $91 million. Philadelphia can also wait until after June 1 to make a move, since that would help spread the dead money over 2026 and 2027.

For the Chiefs, Brown makes sense as a win-now target. Mahomes’ team has already made moves that point toward contention, including adding Kenneth Walker III and bringing back Travis Kelce. The team also picked up draft capital from the Rams, which gives it more flexibility.

If Brown landed in Kansas City, he would give Patrick Mahomes another top weapon and a clear No. 1 receiver.

“The Chiefs are only $9.7 million under the salary cap, so GM Brett Veach would have to find some more savings to bring Brown to Kansas City,” says Bleacher Report.

That matters even more with Mahomes recovering from a torn ACL and the offense needing stability.

Focus is on Patriots but Chiefs make sense for AJ Brown

** They just signed Walker & brought back Kelce. Both win-now moves
** Just got draft picks from the Rams
** Gives AJ a chance to play with Mahomes
** Eagles and Andy Reid’s relationship helps
** AJ can be Andy’s KC TO

The Patriots remain in the mix, too. ESPN’s Mike Reiss said Eliot Wolf left open the possibility, adding that “there is no deadline” for a Brown trade, per Sporting News via Yahoo Sports.

The Rams are also still part of the chatter, though their interest appears less certain now. For now, the Brown market is still open, and Kansas City remain one of the most logical landing spots.
