Here’s everything new Houston Texans defensive lineman Logan Hall said at his introductory press conference with the local media on Wednesday afternoon, including his thoughts on why he chose the Texans, the leadeship of DeMeco Ryans’ defense, and an update on his role with the Texans’ defensive front.

Question: On if he has spoken Defensive Line Coach Rod Wright and how he’s been able to observe Houston’s defensive line
Logan Hall: “I actually spoke with Coach [Rod] Wright maybe a week or two ago, and we had a good talk. We shared some of our ideals and how like-minded we are. He talked about wanting to develop me more as a player and that he didn’t think that I hadn’t peaked yet, and I agree. They just got me really excited for the future and my time here with the Texans because I’m always looking to improve my game and my craft. So, as much as he can pour into me, I’m going to be like a sponge and absorb everything that I can to help this team and contribute.”
Q: On if he is excited to reunite with former college teammate WR Tank Dell
Hall: “I’m fired up. I [haven’t] spoke to him in a while, but he’s been doing good things down here, and hopefully he’s been getting healthy. I’ll see him soon enough, and it’ll be good.”

Q: On what it means to be back playing football in Houston
Hall: “It’s incredibly meaningful. It’s a blessing. All of my family is in close proximity. My son actually stays in the city of Houston. So, just to be back in the city to help cultivate me into the player I am today and to be around my family. It can’t be overstated how much that means to me and my family.”
Q: On where he sees himself within Houston’s defensive scheme and how he would describe his game
Hall: “I think I can do whatever is asked of me. I have that versatility, that size. I’m big enough to play inside. I think I’m explosive enough and long enough to play outside. Ideally, for me, I think [playing] the three technique is home. I love that position. But, ultimately, whatever is asked of me to do, I think I can do it at a high level.”
Q: On how he feels joining DE Will Anderson Jr. and DE Danielle Hunter and the defensive line room
Hall: “I’m excited. They got some fire rushers in that pair. It’s going to make my life a lot easier, certainly. It’s really exciting.”
Q: On what he is hoping to showcase in Houston
Hall: “I think showcasing my explosiveness. What I was asked to do in Tampa [Bay], I think was kind of stand and bang, fight the good fight. I think here I’d have more of an opportunity to pin my ears back and go, which is outstanding. I think cultivating that and continuing to soak up and absorb everything I’m learning from [Defensive Line] Coach [Rod] Wright and everybody else around me. I think that’s going to definitely add to my game.”
Q: On what makes players want to play for Head Coach DeMeco Ryans
Hall: “I think him constantly being dialed in with the defense, being the defensive mind. It’s not going to be boring. You’re not going to get stuck into the monotony. I’m really grateful, coming from the scheme I was in. Similarly, you get to do a lot of things that you might not be allowed to do on other teams. The blitzes and stunts and just being dialed in that way is really rewarding and really fun to play for. So, I think [Head Coach] DeMeco [Ryans] is going to have a lot of good stuff like he has shown in the past. I’m just really excited to be a part of that.”
Q: On what restaurants he will visit when he returns to Houston
Hall: “I’ve been thinking about it. I don’t know. You ever heard of this spot, French Fry House? That was my spot back in college. I miss it. But, there are so many spots, Pinkerton’s, French Fry House. Believe it or not, some people hate this, In-and-Out Burger. You can’t get that in Florida. I’ve been feening for that. Timmy Chan’s, American Deli, the list goes on. I can’t even remember. I need to make a list, an actual list.”
Q: On what excites him about being part of Houston’s defense
Hall: “There’s a lot of talent on this defense, and I think everybody’s kind of like-minded. I know DeMeco [Ryans] harps on that swarm and I totally agree. It all starts with the mindset and good things happen. That’s clearly resonated with the players. It’s been one of the top defenses in the league and they’ve been doing really well. I’m really fired up to be a part of that and add in any way that I can.”
Q: On what sold him on the Houston Texans
Hall: “Their style of play. As I spoke on before, being able to pin my ears back and go. I feel like as a defensive lineman, it is a dream to be able to play for the [Houston] Texans and their play style and their attack, attack, attack. There’s just so much good about that. So many good things can happen from getting vertical. You set the edge, TFLs, all these amazing things can happen. I feel like that’s their philosophy. But not even that. Just being a part of… This defense really is talented and they get after it. I’m really excited to be a part of that, and I know great things are going to happen.”
