For the most part, NFL free agency is now at a standstill. However, the opportunity for the Jacksonville Jaguars to add to their roster still exists.
Salary cap-wise, the Jaguars do not have an abundance of space, but any signing at this stage of free agency won’t break the bank.
Perhaps the biggest hurdle is making sure that any addition made doesn’t interfere with the 2027 compensatory draft picks that the Jaguars are projected to receive. As GM James Gladstone explained, this has factored into the Jaguars’ quiet approach to free agency.
But if Gladstone does want to further bolster the roster prior to the NFL draft in late April, what options does he currently have?
With help from Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, here are his best available free agents at positions of need for the Jaguars as of March 18th.

What’s the need? The Jaguars are positioned well here with Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. However, bolstering the rotation at this position is needed. We may not see Jacksonville spend big at this position, but a low-cost addition could be made.

What’s the need? With Lloyd in Carolina, the starting job next to Foye Oluokun is up for grabs. Ventrell Miller is one candidate already on the roster to fill that role. In his press conference, Gladstone detailed the Jaguars’ plan at linebacker without Lloyd. Or perhaps we see the Jaguars explore free agency and the NFL draft to bolster the depth and competition.

What’s the need? This is arguably the biggest positional need the Jaguars have. Improved depth and more pass-rush juice are needed.
Free agent interior offensive linemen
What’s the need? The Jaguars are experiencing really no roster turnover along the offensive line. So, is there a pressing need? Not really. However, for a team that stresses competition up front, I can’t rule out an addition either, as Jacksonville looks to be more effective in the run game this season.
Free agent safeties
What’s the need? If addressed, the Jaguars will probably tackle this position in the draft. Andrew Wingard signed with Arizona, but still under contract are Eric Murray and Antonio Johnson. Jacksonville also invested two draft picks into the safety position last offseason, selecting Caleb Ransaw and Rayuan Lane. The urgency with which Gladstone addresses safety will depend on how confident he is in Ransaw and Lane being able to provide steady depth.
