The Los Angeles Rams were one of two teams The Athletic linked to a potential trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown. That rumor was put to an end on Monday after NFL insider Mike Florio reported the Rams are no longer interested in trading for Brown.

“They’re out now. They were in, and they’re out,” Florio said on NBC. “I guess they could come back around, but as of right now, they’re out.”
When the Rams were still linked to Brown, veteran wide receiver Davante Adams was involved in a potential trade package for the three-time Pro Bowler. Adams is close to retirement, and trading him would allow the Rams to build a future around a young room of wide receivers.
NFL insider Adam Schefter further debunked the trade rumors involving Adams during a recent interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday. Schefter said the Rams would not trade Adams after paying the six-time Pro Bowler a $6 million bonus on Sunday.
“They just paid him a $6 million roster bonus on Sunday. You’re not paying a $6 million bonus and then moving the guy the next day. That’s not happening anytime soon,” Schefter said.

Adams Could Be Entering the Final Season of His NFL Career
Adams received the $6 million bonus as part of the two-year, $44 million contract he signed with the Rams in 2025. He is entering the final season of that contract in 2026 and could retire at the end of next season.
That means next season could be Adams’ last chance to not only win a Super Bowl title but to play in a Super Bowl. He has played in five NFC Championship games, with the most recent being with the Rams last season, but he has never made it to the Super Bowl.

Like Adams, quarterback Matthew Stafford could also be entering the final season of his career in 2026. After losing in the NFC Championship in 2025, Stafford said Adams deserves a chance to play in a Super Bowl.

“He deserves the opportunity to at least go play in a game that gives him a chance to put a ring on his finger,” Stafford said on “The Let’s Go” podcast in January.
With the Super Bowl set to be played in SoFi Stadium next season, Adams could finally reach, and possibly win, his first Super Bowl in what may be the final season of his career.
