Despite the plethora of procedures that Crosby has had, he has played in 110 out of a possible 117 games in his first seven years. Similar to Benson, the 28-year-old never had any injuries problems in college and rarely missed a game. Crosby makes it clear that injuries are a part of football and to handle the mental hurdle it starts in every area that is not the field. The weight room, film room and any area to stay around the team to showcase your commitment to your teammates.

Benson’s injury came at a rough time for the young halfback. A week prior, Pro Bowl running back James Conner went down with a season-ending injury and opened the door for his RB2 to step up. Benson was going to get his first opportunity to be a full-time starter in the NFL. The former third-round pick lasted one game before a knee injury forcing arthroscopic surgery ended his campaign.
Still early into his career, Benson is seemed unclear on how to handle this major of a setback, with Crosby stepping in with some advice on how to handle it. Conner and Benson are expected to be back at the start of next season, with each having a chip on their shoulder following an injury riddled 2025.
