The Browns are adding depth to the secondary and their special teams units, as they have signed free agent S Daniel Thomas.

Thomas was originally selected by Jacksonville in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and has appeared in 83 games with the Jaguars (2020-24) and Lions (2025). He has recorded 63 career tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery, while adding 33 special teams tackles. Last season, he appeared in 12 games with two starts with Detroit.

Thomas enters a safety room that features Grant Delpit as well as depth pieces in Christopher Edmonds and Donovan McMillon. On special teams, Thomas joins a new unit with Byron Storer as the Browns new special teams coordinator. Thomas has over 1,400 career snaps on special teams over his six years in the league.
