The Cleveland Browns have made it a top priority to maintain their level of play on the defensive line, and on Friday, they continued in that pursuit.
Cleveland came to terms with their defensive lineman Sam Kamara to return to the team for the 2026 season. The terms of the agreement have not been made public, but Kamara will be back with the Browns in 2026.

Kamara entered the league in 2021 as an undrafted free agent for the Chicago Bears. In his inaugural season, he appeared in eight games and registered just 10 tackles on the year. His career then transitioned to Cleveland when he joined the Browns in 2022.
In his time in Cleveland, he has played in just 18 total games over four years, notching 28 total tackles and five tackles for loss. Most recently in 2025, Kamara played in just four games, starting in one of them. Kamara suffered an elbow injury Cleveland’s game against the Chicago Bears in week 15.
Kamara is another recent defensive line addition or retention piece in what has been a main focus of the Browns this offseason. They have now made the additions of AJ Epenesa and Kalia Davis to go along with retaining Kamara and Julian Okwara.

Over the past four seasons, Cleveland’s calling card has been a dominant defensive line. Everyone thinks it’s just Myles Garrett, but across the board, they have had solid production from their interior and their rotational edge rushers opposite of the future Hall-of-Famer.
As it stands right now, the Browns up front will feature Garrett and Alex Wright on the edges, former first round pick Mason Graham, along with Maliek Collins in the interior. Their depth pieces will consist of Isaiah McGuire, Adin Huntington, and Mike Hall Jr., along with all of the new additions.
As Cleveland works their way through another offseason where they have to be financially savvy while navigating their big contracts, they are doing exactly what they need to stay competitive on the defensive side of the ball.
The Browns may add some more defensive line depth in the middle part of the draft, but as it stands right now, this is likely what the unit is going to consist of heading into the 2026 season.
