The Miami Dolphins moved on from both Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips in the last six months, making edge rusher a priority for general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley this offseason.

Miami has signed a few a players to fill those roles in the first week or so of free agency, including defensive end Robert Beal Jr.

According to Over the Cap, the Dolphins have Beal a one-year, $1.2 million deal. The deal includes $1.15 million in base salary and a $50,000 signing bonus. His cap hit for 2026 is $1.2 million.

This contract doesn’t make Beal a lock to make the roster, as Miami could cut him before Week 1 and save $1.15 million while taking on a $50,000 dead cap hit for the season.

The competitions for the starting job opposite Chop Robinson and depth on the both sides are wide open, but Beal would have to beat out some other defensive ends/linebackers for a spot on the roster and opportunities in 2026.
