The Baltimore Ravens‘ offseason has been characterized as one of the most up-and-down offseasons in recent memory.

Nonetheless, the Ravens were able to make the most out of this year’s free agency. Pro Football Focus has given the Baltimore Ravens a B+ grade for their moves during the 2026 offseason.

The story of the offseason so far has been the dramatic events regarding the Maxx Crosby-Ravens trade situation.

The Ravens offered two first round picks to acquire Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. According to multiple reports, Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical in Baltimore which led the Ravens to back out of the trade.

Though the trade did not happen, the Ravens were still able to buffer their defense.

The Baltimore Ravens’ Defensive Moves

The Ravens’ free agency grade seems fitting considering they signed a player as good as Trey Hendrickson.

In a shocking move–not even 24 hours after backing out of the Maxx Crosby trade–the Baltimore Ravens signed Trey Hendrickson to four-year $120 Million deal. Hendrickson was an All-Pro pass rusher for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2021.

“After their deal for Maxx Crosby broke down yesterday, the Ravens land the top free agent on the PFF board in edge defender Trey Hendrickson. The former Bengals standout has earned a 90.0-plus PFF pass-rush grade in three straight seasons, pairing that with a PFF pass-rush win rate of 20.0% or higher. The Ravens’ best edge defender in 2025 earned a 69.6 PFF pass-rush grade and produced a 12.9% PFF pass-rush win rate.” Gordon McGuinness wrote in the PFF article.

According to an ESPN article, he ranks second in overall pressure rate (13.2%), according to ESPN Research, and has 61 sacks, the fourth-highest total. Hendrickson was a third-round selection by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 and has 81 sacks in nine NFL seasons.

In addition to Hendrickson, the Baltimore Ravens also signed Safety Jaylinn Hawkins. The former New England Patriot recorded 4 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, 71 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in 2025.

“Hawkins broke out during the Patriots’ run to the Super Bowl, posting a career-high 74.9 PFF overall grade while earning a 74.7-plus PFF grade in both coverage and run defense. With his contract coming in way below projected value, he forms arguably the league’s best safety room with Kyle Hamilton and Malaki Starks.” McGuinness wrote.

The Baltimore Ravens Addressed Offensive Line

After struggling to protect Lamar Jackson last year, the Ravens addressed the issues with their offensive line by signing Center Danny Pinter from the Indianapolis Colts.

“The Ravens and C Danny Pinter have reached agreement on a deal, per source,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote on his official X account. “Baltimore gets much-needed help at center. Pinter spent five seasons with Indianapolis.”

In 2025, Pinter played just 139 snaps in a backup role, earning a 56.5 PFF grade in six appearances last season.

The Baltimore Ravens also signed John Simpson to a three-year, $30 Million deal on March 9th. Simpson previously played for the New York Jets.

“Simpson was at his best in 2024, earning a 77.3 PFF overall grade — fueled by 70.0-plus marks in pass protection and run blocking. However, that is the only season of his six-year career in which he has topped 60.0. He will be a veteran presence up front for the Ravens, but it’s fair to wonder if there were better options available at this price point.” McGuinness wrote.
