BELLA VISTA, Calif. — The Bella Vista Junior football team has started a GoFundMe for one of their 8u players, Josiah Knight, and his mother after they were critically injured in a vehicle collision,

Knight, only 9, was put into the pediatric intensive care unit after the accident left him gravely injured. Knight underwent treatment and operations while in a coma. His mother, who was also injured in the crash, was also treated in the trauma unit on another floor.

To this day, Knight is still receiving treatment and surgery, inevitably wracking up medical bills.

The Bella Vista Jr. Broncos’ facebook account posted about the incident, sharing Knight’s story and urging people to donate to the GoFundMe while he and his mother recover. The team hopes it can remove additional stressors while they heal.

“Every contribution—no matter the size—makes a meaningful difference. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page and holding this family in your thoughts is deeply appreciated,” the team said in their post. “Let’s come together as a community to support Josiah, surround his family with care, and help them move forward on the long road to recovery!”
