2026 has been an intriguing year for NFL free agents, as many of the top names available have ended up on new teams. It has made for a fun process so far, and now, many former New Orleans Saints are getting in on the party, heading to new teams. Notably, Demario Davis going back to the New York Jets is a detriment to the Saints, no doubt, but getting Kaden Elliss back helps. Cameron Jordan is weighing his options, too.

Another former Saint had made the headlines once again, as former All-Pro and team captain J.T. Gray has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2026 season.

Gray, a seven-year veteran of New Orleans, ended up being moved on from last offseason, allowing him to play with the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a total of five games last year. Unfortunately, his role was much more limited compared to his time in New Orleans. The hope would be that this new opportunity will provide him with significantly more playing time long-term.

Gray recently turned 30 years old, so he still has time left to make something happen, but 2026 is a very crucial year if he wants to solidify a role in the league beyond his time with New Orleans previously. He will not compete against the Saints this year, as they do not have the Eagles on the schedule, nor will he play against the Buccaneers or Broncos, getting a full fresh start.
