The New York Giants have a deep pool of talent available with their first three picks in the 2026 NFL draft.

In the latest mock draft from NFL.com’s Chad Reuter, the Giants select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the No. 5 overall pick.

It’s still possible John Harbaugh goes for a defensive back like Caleb Downs, mirroring his selections while in Baltimore. An explosive playmaker like Love might be too good to pass up, though, as defenses will need to stay in their gaps on run plays and securely tackle in the open field to prevent the former Notre Dame star from breaking away for big gains.

The Giants have a fully stocked running back room consisting of Tyrone Tracy Jr., Cam Skattebo, and Devin Singletary. Nevertheless, the opportunity to draft a running back of Love’s caliber does not always present itself to NFL teams. Love’s 1,372 rushing yards in 2025 are a testament to his capabilities as a ball-carrier.

The Giants also select Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods (No. 37) in the second round, as well as Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II (No. 105) in the fourth round. New York traded the No. 69 overall pick in the third round to the Houston Texans last year (to move up for Jaxson Dart).

Woods recorded two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in 2025. Brazzell II amassed 1,017 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last season.

In this mock draft, New York adds a heralded pass rusher and a highly touted wide receiver along with Love.
