The Pittsburgh Steelers will have another shot to get a close look at a potential defensive line target in the 2026 NFL Draft, as Iowa State defensive tackle Domonique Orange will hold a private workout on April 7, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Orange suffered a quad strain early in the pre-draft process and did not perform testing at the 2026 NFL Combine or at the Iowa State pro day on March 24. But the big defensive tackle nicknamed “Big Citrus” will get another shot at working out in front of NFL teams, including the Steelers, who could be in the market for a defensive tackle in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Orange is a 6-foot-2, 322-pound defensive tackle prospect who excelled in run defense during his four seasons with the Cyclones. He played primarily over the A-gap in Iowa State’s 3-4, making him one of the few true nose tackles in the draft class. In 2025, he played a total of 543 snaps and 412 of them game over the A-gap, per Pro Football Focus.
In 12 games, he recorded 18 tackles, 0.5 for a loss and one pass defended. He best statistical season came in 2024, when he had 24 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one pass defended.
Orange is generally considered to be a day-two prospect, and is currently No. 66 on the NFL Mock Draft Database big board, which slots between the Steelers’ second selection at No. 53 in the second round and third selection at No. 75 overall in the third round.
The Steelers have working on a multi-year rebuild of their defensive line, drafting Keeanu Benton in the second round in 2023 and Derrick Harmon in the first round and Yahya Black in the fifth round last year.
With Cam Heyward entering his age 37 season, the Steelers likely could want one more future piece for their defensive line, and with Black showing more proficiency for playing three-technique and five-technique than nose tackle as a rookie last year, drafting a nose tackle like Orange could be a strong possibility for the Steelers in the 2026 NFL Draft.
