The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a quiet offseason so far, focusing mainly on retaining existing talent and only signing on free agent running back Chris Rodriguez.
The Jaguars have a difficult salary cap situation to work with, but they also have a strong roster to work with heading into 2026. It makes sense that James Gladstone would prioritize running it back this offseason, while focusing on new additions in the draft.
However, there are still roster holes that need to be addressed, mostly on defense. Jacksonville had the best run defense in the league in 2025, but struggled with generating a consistent pass rush. The biggest priorities are defensive tackles and edge rushers, though adding another linebacker for depth isn’t a terrible idea, either.
Gladstone likely has some ideas on who to target in the draft for these positions, but there are still some free agents out there who are flying under the radar and won’t cost a ton of money for Jacksonville to sign.
DE Joey Bosa
Bosa has high name recognition, and he had a good season in 2025 after suffering several injury-plagued years. As Pro Football Focus (PFF) pointed out, he played well with the Buffalo Bills.

“Across 654 snaps, his most since 2021, Bosa collected 54 pressures across an 85.5 PFF pass-rush grade,” Bradley Locker wrote for PFF. “Further, Bosa’s 15.0% pass-rush win rate tied for 20th among qualified edge defenders.”
Given his age and the fact that he isn’t as good against the run, some teams might be hesitant to sign Bosa. But he could be a perfect fit for the Jags; Anthony Campanile doesn’t need help against the run, but with the pass rush, and that’s where Bosa can be a real asset. He likely won’t be an every-down contributor, but he can bring a strong veteran presence and some leadership to the defense, and he won’t cost a whole lot, either.
IDL Calais Campbell
Campbell will be familiar to Jaguars fans — he played for the Jags between 2017 and 2019 — and it could be time to get him back in the teal. He was a standout player during his time in Jacksonville, and he played well again in 2025 with the Arizona Cardinals.
Like Bosa, Campbell can do a great job at bolstering the Jaguars’ pass rush, but he can also help stop the run. Campbell is versatile and talented, which would work perfectly with Campanile’s scheme, and could serve as a great mentor within the defensive tackle room.
DE Cameron Jordan
Jordan has spent his entire 15-year career with the New Orleans Saints and is hitting free agency for the first time. Gladstone should consider at least looking into him; he’s a talented pass rusher and is an eight-time Pro Bowler who could bring some serious leadership to the defense.
At 36, he’s definitely older, but he is still playing well. Jordan racked up 10 sacks last season and played at his highest level since 2021. He could add some depth to the position and help bolster the defensive line.
