As the NFL calendar turns from 2025 to 2026 and looks forward to the newest class of rookie standouts, Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey is still receiving recognition for his contributions during his rookie season.
The Panini Senior Bowl has named Harvey its AFC Rookie of the Year after a productive first season. Harvey had an exceptional rookie year backing up fellow back J.K. Dobbins, and took over the primary role when Dobbins was injured against the Las Vegas Raiders late in the season. Harvey led the Broncos and all NFL rookies with 12 touchdowns from scrimmage, adding 896 scrimmage yards to a Denver offense that made it to the AFC Championship in 2025.
Harvey was invited to the Senior Bowl in 2025 as a dynamic star out of UCF. Harvey was recruited as a quarterback out of high school, but changed his position to running back. In the Senior Bowl, Harvey showed off his passing ability, throwing a touchdown in the game.
Alongside Harvey, the Senior Bowl honored New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough as their overall Rookie of the Year, and Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman Grey Zabel as the NFC Rookie of the Year. You can read more about the honorees here.
Harvey looks to continue his development behind Dobbins, who recently re-signed with the team, and make an impact on a Broncos offense that just made a huge leap with the acquisition of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
