The Seattle Seahawks have shown interest in adding another veteran cornerback this offseason. General manager John Schneider has hosted two free-agent corners, Rasul Douglas and Shaq Griffin, on visits. Both players remain free agents and could possibly join the Seahawks before training camp begins.
If the Seahawks wanted to explore an alternative option, the Miami Dolphins are expected to trade All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey this offseason. Indications are a Ramsey trade could soon come to fruition. There’s a clause in his contract that makes trading him after June 1 significantly more financially beneficial.

Ramsey started all 17 regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024. The seven-time Pro Bowler recorded 60 combined tackles, 11 passes defended, two interceptions, and one sack. Ramsey is technically under contract through 2028, but he’s unlikely to play out the entire duration of that extension.
To date, the Seahawks haven’t been named as a potential suitor for Ramsey, but that means nothing. The most commonly connected teams are the Dallas Cowboys, and Seattle’s NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams. Ramsey previously played four seasons in L.A., winning Super Bowl LVI. Perhaps the fear of a reunion will influence the Seahawks to enter the sweepstakes.
Ultimately, the Seahawks probably won’t make a serious offer for Ramsey. Schneider seems to be searching for secondary depth, with a potential veteran addition like Douglas or Griffin playing behind boundary starters Riq Woolen and Josh Jobe. Perhaps Seattle should call Miami to inquire about the asking price.
