GREEN BAY – As a Celebration of Life for longtime Packers president Bob Harlan took place Monday, a former head coach is remembering him as a wonderful man and leader.

“I can’t say enough good things about him,” former head coach Mike Holmgren told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News. “I learned a lot from (Harlan). I learned so much about how to run an organization, how to work with people, etc.”

Holmgren recalled Harlan’s ability to lead without getting in the way.

“I would probably see him once a week. He would come into my office, chat for awhile, and ask what can I do to help you? He was very positive and immediately backed me up.”

Holmgren also credited Harlan with the Lambeau Field renovation that would transition the iconic stadium into a first class facility.

“I remember visiting once, the whole place, the stadium, offices, etc. I didn’t have any windows (in my old office)! It had changed so much (because of Bob Harlan). Bless his heart.”
