Among the several signings made in free agency, the Indianapolis Colts have given the wide receiver depth a boost by signing Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Over the Cap now has Westrbook-Ikhine’s contract details and 2026 salary cap hit.

This is a one-year deal for Westbrook-Ikhine worth $1.402 million. He will earn a base salary of $1.215 million with $250,000 of that guaranteed. Westbrook-Ikhine also received a $187,5000 signing bonus.

His salary cap hit for the season is $1.262 million. At least from a contract standpoint, Westbrook-Ikhine is not a lock to make the 53-man roster. If the Colts were to release him, they would incur a dead cap hit of only $437,500.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine’s fit with the Colts

Although the Colts invested heavily in the wide receiver position when they re-signed Alec Pierce, trading away Michael Pittman really exposed the lack of depth at this position.

Prior to signing Westbrook-Ikhine, the top wide receiver options on the depth chart after Pierce and Josh Downs were Ashton Dulin, Anthony Gould — a slot receiver — and Laquon Treadwell.

Westbrook-Ikhine will likely have the opportunity to compete with Dulin for that third wide receiver position. That is a role that will see its share of playing time this season.

This signing can hopefully boost competition within this room and elevate the floor of this unit.

The addition of Westbrook-Ikhine should not stop GM Chris Ballard from further adding to this unit.
