The Chargers have been linked to free agent wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who has yet to sign with a team.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes two teams with a 49ers connection would be a good fit for Jennings. The Chargers’ offensive coordinator is Mike McDaniel, and the Titans’ head coach, Robert Saleh, both previously worked in San Francisco.

“The Titans employ former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. As previously mentioned, second-year quarterback Cam Ward could use more talent on the perimeter. Jennings would be great for the young signal-caller,” Knox writes.

“Jennings would also be a sensible replacement for Keenan Allen for the Los Angeles Chargers. L.A. could use a possession receiver and employs former 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel in the same position.”

McDaniel and Jennings were on the 49ers together for one season, 2021. During that season, McDaniel served as the offensive coordinator, while Jennings played his first regular-season action. That year, Jennings found the end zone five times.

Jennings is coming off a 2025 season with the 49ers, where he recorded a career-high nine touchdowns on 55 catches, despite missing time with injuries.

While not a huge need, the Chargers could benefit from an X-receiver, a role that Jennings would fill.
