Fantasy football managers will have to be extremely careful when choosing a running back from the Atlanta Falcons in the first round next season.

After one season with San Francisco, running back Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to sign with the Falcons, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Tuesday, citing sources.

Running back depth will now be a priority for the second offseason in a row for the 49ers, who recently re-signed Patrick Taylor Jr. There are still some veteran backs on the market looking for a new home, as well as some talent at the position in the draft.

In 17 games last season, Robinson Jr. rushed for 400 yards and two touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey’s former backup now heads to Atlanta to pair up with another one of the best running backs in the NFL.

Bijan Robinson rushed for 1,478 yards last year, along with seven touchdowns. Tyler Allgeier was his counterpart last season, but with a new deal in Arizona, the other B. Robinson should fit seamlessly into the role.

With only 92 rushing attempts last season, Robinson Jr. should anticipate an expanded role in Atlanta. Running back by committee has been a trend in the NFL that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. McCaffrey’s ability as both a running back and a receiver makes it extremely difficult for him to leave the field with San Francisco.

Keeping Bijan Robinson fresh and healthy is something that will go hand in hand with Brian Robinson’s productivity with the Falcons.
