Earlier this month, the Miami Dolphins released quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, allowing him to sign with the Atlanta Falcons for the 2026 season where he’ll compete with Michael Penix for the starting job.

Now, Miami has lost another quarterback to the NFC South, as New Orleans Football Network’s Nick Underhill reported that Zach Wilson is signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.

Wilson, 26, was a first-round pick (No. 2 overall) of the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL draft out BYU. He spent three seasons in New York and one with the Denver Broncos before the Dolphins signed him last March.

Despite the struggles at quarterback in 2025, Miami didn’t use Wilson much, as he appeared in just four games and completed 6-of-11 passes (54.5%) for 32 yards. Now, he’ll back up Tyler Shough in New Orleans.
