The Cincinnati Bengals are out doing due diligence and final prep before the NFL draft in a matter of weeks.

Given that, it’s not uncommon to see Bengals positional coaches and scouts linking up with a variety of prospects in public around the country right now.

But the Bengals popping up with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is pretty surprising.

Some will push back on this as a surprise because Love is a top 10 prospect. The Bengals were surely there looking at other Fighting Irish products, too.

And yet, the mind wanders when actually seeing it:

Would the Bengals make a luxury pick like that if Love falls? Would he be best player available on their board?

Love is the third-overall player at PFF in the draft class for a reason. He averaged 6.7 yards per carry with 36 scores in college and was a threat through the air and all over the field.

There’s no question the Bengals like what they have with Chase Brown. But there’s also no question that Love would make the offense quite a bit more dynamic and explosive.

The Bengals will probably go best defensive player available. The defensive line and secondary remain a priority. But the Bengals might have an interesting call on their hands if Love for some reason dips a bit on draft day.
