Heading into this past season, Clemson was littered with first-round NFL prospects. Both Peter Woods and TJ Parker entered 2025 as projected top-five picks, with many ESPN analysts throwing Cade Klubnik in the top ten and Aveion Terrell in the top 15.

After a disappointing season from all of the above (with the exception of Aveion), Clemson has a new potential star of the first round.

In his third mock draft, NFL.com’s Tom Fornelli has Blake Miller going 17th overall to the Detroit Lions. This makes Miller the top Clemson football player selected and the fourth offensive tackle taken in a loaded day one for trench players.

The Lions are aiming to reload what was once a stacked offensive line, the backbone of a roster that made the conference championship two seasons ago. With the exception of Right Tackle Penei Sewell, Detroit has failed to retain each of its linemen from 2024. While Miller did play 97% of his snaps on the right side, the adaptable, high-IQ four-year starter should be able to find a way to contribute in the trenches.
