The Arizona Cardinals have done some work this offseason in free agency, but have not improved their roster much. At most positions, they could and probably should add players in the NFL draft.

But looking at each position, where in the draft should they be looking? While teams always want to stick to their draft board, sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to draft a position early.

We will look at each position group and determine what need level the Cardinals have — is it in Round 1? Is it on Day 2? What about Day 3?

We start at quarterback.

Cardinals draft need level: Quarterback

With Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew as the two main quarterbacks, the Cardinals are neither set up for success in the present nor have a long-term option. Both are in their 30s and have a career 37-75 combined record as starters. We saw Brissett go 1-11 and 0-9 over the final nine games. He put up career-highs in yards and touchdowns, but went 0-for-6 in end-of-game drives with the opportunity to win games.

They badly need to draft a quarterback, but this might not be the year because Fernando Mendoza, expected to be the first overall, is viewed as the only quarterback worth a top-10 pick.
