Nashville’s wait to host the Super Bowl looks likely to be extended at least another year.
The location of Super Bowl 63 in 2029 will be voted on at the NFL owners meetings, held March 29-April 1, and Las Vegas is expected to be selected as host according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Locations for the next two Super Bowls have already been announced with SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles hosting in 2027 and Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta hosting the following year.

With Nashville’s new Nissan Stadium set to open in 2027, the NFL has already indicated a desire to bring the Super Bowl to Music City for the first time.
In November, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell lauded the city’s execution of the 2019 NFL Draft as he attended a steel topping out ceremony for the new Nissan Stadium construction project, before highlighting the new stadium’s impact on a potential Super Bowl in Tennessee.

“The work that they’ve done here from the moment you had the draft and what you’ve done to change the trajectory of the draft ― you actually took the draft and you made it yours, but you did it in a way that was incredibly impactful to the NFL and the Titans ― and I think all of us at that moment had the wake-up moment that this is a Super Bowl-ready city,” Goodell said in November. “The one thing that’s missing is the stage. I think now we’re building a great stage.”

Nashville’s next opportunity to host the Super Bowl will come in 2030, but a new precedent would need to be set in order for Nissan Stadium to be selected. Florida has never gone nine years without hosting a Super Bowl and the last time was Tampa in 2021.
Despite that, Nashville is expected to make a strong case for football’s biggest game for the next vote, potentially putting its new home on full display.
“We believe in you,” Goodell said of Nashville in November. “And I think you’re starting to believe in yourself.”
