Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has established himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL.

In 2025, Josh Allen delivered another remarkable individual season as the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. He passed for 3,668 yards, recording 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while achieving a completion rate of 69.3%. Additionally, he rushed for 579 yards and scored 14 touchdowns.

The team once again fell short of reaching the Super Bowl, losing to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round with a score of 33-30 in overtime. As a result, the Buffalo Bills are reassessing their strategy following the firing of head coach Sean McDermott, who has been replaced by offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

The Bills are likely aiming to strengthen their roster by adding a top-tier wide receiver. Last season, Khalil Shakir was the team’s leading receiver, recording 719 yards. Pro Football Focus analyst Jordan Plocher predicts that the Bills will select Jordyn Tyson from the Arizona State Sun Devils, who has compiled 2,282 yards and scored 22 touchdowns throughout his college career.

“Concerns about Tyson’s injury history caused the talented wide receiver to fall right into the lap of the Buffalo Bills in this mock,” Plocher wrote. “Buffalo traded its second-round pick this year to the Bears for wide receiver DJ Moore, but because consistent wide receiver play has held the team back from a Super Bowl, there is still work to be done.”

“(Also, the 2026 season will be Moore’s ninth in the NFL, and Tyson will have just turned 22-years old.)” Plocher continued. “The Bills haven’t had a consistent receiving threat other than Khalil Shakir for the past two seasons, although Shakir does most of his work on shorter routes. Buffalo could use an intermediate separator, someone who can consistently get open in the 10-19-yard range downfield. Tyson’s career average depth of target is 13.3 yards, and he earned outstanding PFF receiving grades at the intermediate depth in each of the past two seasons: 95.6 in 2024 and 93.8 in 2025.”

If Buffalo adds Tyson, the immediate ripple effect would be felt in the passing game. His ability to operate in the intermediate areas of the field would complement Shakir’s short-yardage role and take pressure off veterans like DJ Moore. For Allen, it means a more balanced receiving corps, one that can sustain drives rather than relying on explosive plays or quarterback improvisation.

More importantly, this move would signal a philosophical shift under Brady. Rather than leaning heavily on Allen’s playmaking ability, the Bills could transition toward a more structured and efficient passing attack. Tyson’s production, along with elite intermediate grading, suggests he could quickly become a reliable chain-mover. That kind of consistency is often what separates playoff teams from Super Bowl contenders, especially in tight postseason games like Buffalo’s overtime loss last year.

Looking ahead, if Tyson is selected by Buffalo, his development will be closely monitored once the rookie minicamp and training camp begin later this offseason. If he can quickly build chemistry with Allen, the Bills could enter the 2026 season with a more complete offense, one capable of finally breaking through in the AFC and making a long-awaited Super Bowl run.
