The Buffalo Bills may never shake the “Carolina North” allegations.
As announced on Thursday, the Bills have inked former Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Austin Corbett. The soon-to-be ninth-year veteran can now be added to a long list of ex-Panthers to shuffle off to Buffalo—joining a few more familiar names in general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Joe Brady.
After splitting his first four NFL seasons between the Cleveland Browns (2019 to 2019) and the Los Angeles Rams (2019 to 2021), Corbett signed away to Carolina on a three-year, $26.25 million deal ahead of the 2022 campaign. He went on to appear in just 26 games over that initial pact due to two knee injuries and a torn biceps.
Carolina brought Corbett back on a one-year agreement for 2025, where he’d be named the Week 1 starter at center. But he’d sustain an MCL injury in Week 2, giving way to Cade Mays for the remainder of the season.
Corbett, who was named the team’s Walter Payton May of the Year club winner in 2025, ended his tenure with the Panthers having started in 37 of his 40 contests.
