THE Dallas Cowboys have dropped a major hint on the potential direction they may head into the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys aren’t exactly short of talent at wide receiver, but that hasn’t stopped them from hosting one of the NFL Draft’s best prospects.

It might well be that Jerry Jones is attempting to deceive the rest of the NFL with a decoy move as they hold two first-round picks.
However, it could also be that he is very keen on getting to know Indiana Hoosiers star wideout Omar Cooper Jr. in depth.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cowboys will host Cooper Jr. on a top-30 visit ahead of April’s draft in Pittsburgh.
It is one of at least eight top-30 visits for the 2025 National Champion wideout.

The Cowboys have made it clear that defense is the priority moving forward this season after a disastrous year in 2025.
However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to use high draft capital on offensive weapons like Cooper Jr.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said as much at the Texas Longhorns Pro Day.
He commented, “You want to be prepared to do what we need to do on defense, but certainly we’re not going to pass on a great offensive player if they’re there at one of those spots.”
If there is any offensive player that fits the bill, it would be Cooper Jr. after he enjoyed a stunning 2025 college football season.
Cooper Jr. racked up 937 yards and 13 touchdowns on 69 catches for the Hoosiers in their National Championship-winning season.
He also made one of the best plays ever witnessed at the collegiate level to keep their perfect season alive.
In the waning seconds against Penn State, Cooper Jr. made a ridiculous toe-tap touchdown with gravity and momentum very much against him.
That score won the Hoosiers the game to secure an iconic comeback victory.
The move from Jones does leave questions over their plans in the wide receiver room going forward.
Jones made a big statement when he franchise tagged George Pickens and made it clear he wanted to sign him to a long-term extension.
The Cowboys also have CeeDee Lamb as their main star wide receiver on a whopping four-year, $136 million contract.
A team can never have too much offensive firepower, but considering they hold two first-round picks at No.12 and No.20, it’ll be a bold call not to use them on the defense.
