A former Pittsburgh Steelers coach is heading to Ohio State, joining offensive coordinator Arthur Smith on the Buckeyes’ coaching staff.

According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Ohio State is expected to hire former Steelers defensive quality control coach Jason Brooks in an “analyst capacity.”

Brooks got his first NFL-level experience as a scouting assistant for the Miami Dolphins in 2007 before accepting a role as an assistant to the offense for the Baltimore Ravens.

Serving in multiple coaching roles, including offensive quality control coach, assistant defensive line coach, and football analyst for the Ravens, Brooks was hired as the Steelers’ defensive quality control coach in 2023.

With experience coaching both sides of the ball, Brooks will look to make the most of this new chapter with Ohio State, becoming the second former Steelers coach to leave the Steel City to become a Buckeye.
