The 2026 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and it feels like we keep having the same conversation over and over again when it comes to Notre Dame running back, Jeremiyah Love — and it’s maddening. Love is arguably the best overall player in the NFL Draft, but we are in this world of “position value” and all sorts of other things that are for mortals.
It’s a trap.

We are trapped to look at, and talk about, Jeremiyah Love as a mortal when it comes to the NFL — when he is anything but a mortal.
Alright. Maybe that was a little hyperbolic. Still… the idea of being trapped in one line of thought isn’t hyperbole. Dan Orlovsky is someone that isn’t trapped in this conversation. He doesn’t look at Jeremiyah Love as just a running back — he looks at him as a weapon. He looks at him as a football player (and the best one in the draft).
Regardless, and comically so, this is the NFL. And despite all evidence to the contrary throughout NFL Draft history — they know better. Because of this, there is still a strong feeling that Love is an immense talent that might just fall into the lap of someone smart enough to tap it.

Which brings us to the Washington Commanders. The Commanders are a team that Adam Schefter is currently looking at as a franchise that is willing to get a dynamic weapon like Love.
So… people are pretty sure Love is going to be selected in the top 10, but very unsure about the final destination. That seems to also be the opinion of a lot of Notre Dame fans as over 85% of those surveyed felt like Love will have his name called in those first 10 picks.
Speaking of surveys…
This week we also asked about Notre Dame cornerback Christian Gray and a possible position switch to being the full-time nickel. It appears as though most Notre Dame fans believe this will eventually be the case. While I sway back and forth about what the decision SHOULD ultimately be, I too think that this move seems to be trending in that direction.

While we have you here, let’s talk a little bit about Notre Dame Women’s Basketball. The Irish play in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday against the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Fort Worth bracket. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Irish are 5.5 point underdogs to the 2-seed Commodores.
