Free agency may be at a standstill, but there are still a few available players who make sense for the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s been a fairly active free agency period for the Colts, which includes Chris Ballard making nine outside signings along with re-signing several of Indianapolis’ own free agents.

However, there are still several roster holes that remain. With somewhat limited draft capital and a good amount of salary cap space, free agency remains an avenue that Ballard could use to further bolster this roster.

DE Cameron Jordan

Entering Year 16, Jordan may not be an every-down answer at defensive end to pair with Laiatu Latu, but he can provide needed juice during passing situations. Jordan has spent his first 15 NFL seasons in New Orleans, where he’s produced consistently and at a high level. His most productive years came from 2015 through 2021, but Jordan is still getting to the quarterback, generating 36 pressures and 10 sacks last season.

LB Bobby Okereke

A reunion with Okereke makes a lot of sense. He, along with Akeem Davis-Gaither, would provide needed experience at this position, hopefully helping to raise the floor of this unit. Okereke had two interceptions and four pass breakups last season.

LB Germaine Pratt

Re-signing Pratt would provide the Colts with something they very much need at linebacker — stability. This is, overall, a very inexperienced unit with a lot of question marks. The addition of Pratt early last season helped stabilize this position. Pratt finished his season with the Colts recording 101 total tackles and holding pass-catchers to 10.1 yards per reception. He also had one interception and three pass breakups.
