The NFL will play its first regular-season game in Australia this September, and demand for tickets is already off the charts. With the Los Angeles Rams “hosting” the San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sept. 11 (Australia time), fans are itching to see this rivalry take place at the historic venue.
According to The Herald Sun in Australia, as of Thursday morning, 151,000 people were on the waiting list, “many from interstate and overseas.” Surely, that number has grown significantly since then, as interest in the game continues to rise.

The Herald Sun called it the stadium’s “greatest rush for passes since Taylor Swift,” just to give you an idea of the demand level.
The date and time of the game were only set this week, so fans just recently found out when the Rams and 49ers will play. Even with a 10:35 a.m. kickoff time on a Friday, fans are itching to catch this NFC West showdown at the MCG.
Rams season ticket members will have their pwn presale on April 1 at 2 p.m. PT, followed by hospitality packages becoming available on April 6 and general tickets going on sale April 7. It’s going to be a hot ticket for anyone looking to attend, confirming the league’s suspicions that Australia would more than welcome a regular-season game on its turf.
