The Cincinnati Bengals might have a rather unexpected draft prospect on their radar at 10th overall:

Keldric Faulk.

Faulk has felt like a bit of a long shot for the Bengals so early. There’s the need at safety to consider and Caleb Downs might be there. One could see them attacking linebacker or the defensive line with a variety of different other names, too.

But ESPN’s Matt Miller recently wrote this about Faulk’s draft outlook: “The Chiefs at No. 9 and the Bengals at No. 10 overall are two teams to watch here” regarding Keldric Faulk.

Some of the buzz that Miller notes about Faulk, though, is how he’s a great run defender whose pass-rushing production took a step back last season.

And that’s why plenty of fans have considered Faulk a no-go for the Bengals so early. Some of the profile is pretty similar to Shemar Stewart, whose rookie year didn’t exactly go as planned last season.

The Bengals are clearly headed for what should be a defensive front-seven pick in the opening round. But whether they’d add another big developmental question mark while still hoping to get more out of Stewart and fellow first-round product Myles Murphy remains to be seen.

Alas, Faulk is surely on the draft board and a possibility for the Bengals.
