It’s very early, but let’s take a look ahead to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2027 salary cap situation.
This offseason, the Jaguars have been limited in spending power. According to Over the Cap, Jacksonville has $5.98 million in cap space at the moment. Only five teams have less cap space than the Jaguars.
Weighing the Jaguars’ cap situation down in 2026 is the hefty amount of dead cap that is on the books currently. This is a product of the heavy amount of roster turnover that the Jaguars underwent in 2025.
However, those dead cap figures will be off the books in 2027, providing the Jaguars with some relief.
How much projected salary cap space do the Jaguars have in 2027?
As of now — and things will change — the Jaguars are projected to have $44.184 million in cap space next offseason. Despite the significant improvement compared to this year, it still ranks near the bottom of the NFL.

The largest cap hits on the team at that time belong to Trevor Lawrence ($35M), Josh Hines-Allen ($40.15M), Jakobi Meyers ($22.29M), Cole Van Lanen ($19.2M), and Patrick Mekari ($18.17M).
There is, of course, the ability to create more room through contract restructures, certain veteran cuts, or even contract extensions in some instances.
Free agency is an important tool when it comes to roster building, but GM James Gladstone wants to build this Jaguars’ roster through the NFL draft, and ideally, the cap space that is available goes towards retaining and extending Jacksonville’s own players.
