The Seattle Seahawks find themselves with a major question mark at the running back position as we prepare to turn the page to April.

After losing Kenneth Walker in free agency, the only signing the Seahawks have made at the position is Emanuel Wilson, who is a career backup.

Zach Charbonnet is also on the depth chart, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be ready for the start of the season after suffering a torn ACL in the playoffs.

Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport predicts the Seahawks will address their need at the position by signing former Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers back, Najee Harris.

Here’s Davenport’s thoughts on his Harris to Seahawks prediction:

Harris did little with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025, carrying the ball just 15 times before getting hurt. But this is a player who topped 1,000 yards on the ground four times in as many seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 28-year-old isn’t going to be expensive and won’t preclude the Seahawks from drafting a running back early. But with his rehab reportedly progressing well, he could offer Seattle a low-risk option in the backfield with the potential for a high reward.

The injury Davenport mentions is a torn Achilles, which limited Harris to just three games last season. However, Harris has posted to social media showing he’s running at full speed, so he should be ready for 2026.

This prediction is actually realistic, as the Seahawks have already met with Harris in a free-agent visit, which shows clear interest and makes a signing possible.

Before his unsuccessful stint in Los Angeles, Harris was a first-round pick of the Steelers in 2021 and posted four-straight 1,000-yard seasons on the ground.

While Harris isn’t a game-breaking back like Walker was for Seattle, he is a strong runner between the tackles and offers above-average pass-catching ability, making him a three-down option if needed.

Harris has also proven he can take on a big workload after tallying four seasons with at least 255 carries.

Coming off a serious injury, Harris is going to come cheap in free agency, so there’s little risk in bringing him in. It makes all the sense in the world for Seattle to add him to its competition at running back.
