After trading for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Denver Broncos are predicted to put Marvin Mims on the trade block to recoup draft capital next month. PFF published an article breaking down each NFL team’s most valuable trade asset, and they believe Mims is the Broncos’ prized possession. Selected as a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the receiver has been operating mainly as a punt-return specialist. After recording an All-Pro in his rookie season that year, the receiver has established himself as one of the better punt returners in the league.

Between him and fellow teammate Troy Franklin, it would come down to who has more value. Unfortunately for Mims, the Broncos probably will deal him instead of Franklin. Both receivers are under the last year of their rookie contracts this upcoming season.

Broncos Two-Time Pro Bowler Marvin Mims Named “Most Valuable Trade Asset” for 2026 NFL Draft

Although the Broncos could always find another punt-returner in the future. Franklin is coming off a down season last year, but if he continues to operate with more reps alongside Waddle and Courtland Sutton, then they’re likely to trade Mims. It’s a tough situation for the Broncos, so if they want to settle it during the 2026 NFL Draft, it might be the best decision.

The last thing the Broncos want is to lose Mims or Franklin due to injuries during the 2026 campaign, so it won’t be surprising if the team listens to offers for both receivers. It doesn’t mean they’ll deal both, but at least one receiver is on the hot seat. However, Mims could be getting the most interest, and with that, here are three teams that may target him on Night 1 of the draft next month.

Possible Destinations
Carolina Panthers

After signing Jaelan Phillips in free agency, the Carolina Panthers are actively trying to open up a door for a championship run. With that, it shouldn’t be surprising if the Panthers want to trade for a big-name receiver. Mims might not be the name like AJ Brown, but he does provide electricity for an offense that is being carried by Tetairoa McMillan. If the Panthers want Bryce Young to have another explosive campaign, they should consider getting Mims.

While he’s more of a punt-returner, he’s still a capable receiver who can catch the football in certain situations. Xavier Legette is the latest receiver on the roster who could be traded, so it would make sense as his replacement.

Baltimore Ravens

Meanwhile, the Ravens haven’t found their WR3 in years after going through Odell Beckham Jr., Nelson Agholor and now DeAndre Hopkins. Despite firing John Harbaugh this offseason, it’s time for this team to put Lamar Jackson in the driver’s seat to win. WR Rashod Bateman has been slowing down, and Zay Flowers could use an explosive life. Mims isn’t the greatest name, but he could be the secret weapon to turn this offense from good to the best it has been in recent years.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons might be the best destination for Mims. Atlanta hasn’t had an explosive punt-returner since Devin Hester and Cordarrelle Patterson. Mims won’t be on the same level as them, but the team does need another receiver after losing Darnell Mooney.

Despite the team signing Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus, these receivers are past their prime and probably only brought in for a short time. Mims provides long-term stability for an offense that is most likely going through a quarterback change between Michael Penix Jr. and free agent signee Tua Tagovailoa.
