Mike Band of NFL.com has released a new 2026 NFL mock draft, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were predicted to land a superstar playmaker.

With consensus No. 1 guard Olaivavega Ioane still available, Band surprisingly had the Steelers passing up on the talented interior offensive lineman in favor of selecting one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft: Arizona State Sun Devil Jordyn Tyson.

“With Mike McCarthy now in charge and the Steelers still valuing receivers who can separate and finish through contact, Tyson fits as a polished, early-starter type who can round out the room alongside DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr,” Band wrote.

Tyson, who caught 136 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns in his past 21 games with Arizona State, was once believed to be a top-10 draft pick before injury concerns seemingly took a toll on his projection.

If he somehow makes it all the way to Pittsburgh at pick No. 21, the Steelers could form one of the best wide receiver trios in the league, with Tyson, DK Metcalf, and Michael Pittman terrorizing opposing secondaries.
