From a Cincinnati Bengals perspective, watching Trey Hendrickson’s journey with the Baltimore Ravens so far has been odd.
Hendrickson finally got the big-money deal he wanted, landed in Baltimore and had some odd comments, including describing himself as a “’win-now’ window” player.

In new interviews making the rounds, Hendrickson waxes poetic about serving as a mentor for the young guys in the Ravens locker room, too:
That might smack a bit odd for Bengals fans who watched last May as Hendrickson flew into Cincinnati and gave a sideline interview about his contract standoff while teammates practiced behind him. It’s been jarring overall on this topic, considering Hendrickson was seen working with someone like Shemar Stewart closely during training camp, too.
Also odd is the Maxx Crosby thing. The public perception around the nixed Crosby trade, only for Hendrickson to sign with the Ravens hours later, will probably never change.

Hendrickson has maintained what many will perceive as the company line while talking about thinking he was going to team up with Crosby:
No matter how strange things seem to Bengals fans when it comes to Hendrickson these days, all that really matters is what unfolds on the field.
On that topic, the Bengals just returned the same starting five offensive linemen for the first time in the Joe Burrow era. They also have a robust knowledge of Hendrickson on the field, too…and probably aren’t sad that the Crosby trade didn’t happen.
