Kamari Ramsey is a very interesting prospect heading into the NFL draft. In 2024, he showed he was one of the best safeties in the country, but last season was a step down. His draft stock reflects that, but he could be one of the sleepers on the defensive side of the ball who can be a plug-and-play player.

In a recent fourth-round mock draft, analyst Chad Reuter has safety Kamari Ramsey heading to the Miami Dolphins in the 3rd round at pick 87.

The Miami Dolphins have a lot of work to do as they are in the process of tearing down the roster and building it back up. Trading away safety Minkah Fitzpatrick depletes an already underwhelming secondary. The Dolphins could address that by taking a shot on former Trojan Kamari Ramsey.

Kamari Ramsey is a do-it-all safety who can end up being a building block for the Dolphins’ new era defense under Jeff Hafley. Safeties that can move around in coverage and be physical in the run game were the safeties that had success under Hafley in Green Bay. Under Hafley, both Evan Williams and Xavier McKinney looked like elite safeties. Kamari Ramsey could fit that mold and be on the same trajectory.

Although Kamari Ramsey had a down year this past season in 2024, he showed exactly why he has a lot of upside and why a defensive-minded coach should take a chance on him. Landing under Hafley in Miami could ultimately end up as the best fit possible for Kamari Ramsey.
