The Las Vegas Raiders started free agency with a bang by trading Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens. The team received two first-round picks in exchange for Crosby, but the trade fell apart. When the star edge rusher landed in Baltimore, the Ravens franchise decided that his injury to his knee wasn’t worth the investment.

Since then, Crosby has displayed his loyalty to the Raiders, exhibiting all the signs he will suit up for the Silver and Black in 2026. John Spytek has always had a good realtionship with Crosby and it was easy for them to make amends. During a podcast on the Raiders website the Raiders GM spoke on the trade for the first time.

“My relationship with Maxx since I’ve gotten here has been great,” Spytek said, via the team’s official website. “We had a lot of conversations throughout the season, at the end of the season obviously, through the offseason and obviously we were presented with a difficult decision to make. Things have a way of going a certain way and working out the way they’re supposed to. We welcomed him like he never left, because he really never did.”

It always felt like Spytek wasn’t a fan of trading Crosby. He is vital to keeping the defense adequate as they build up that side of the ball with young talent. Hopefully, Crosby is here to stay, and the Raiders have a bounce-back season.
