Another local product will meet with the Houston Texans ahead of next month’s NFL draft.
According to KPRC 2 Sports’ Aaron Wilson, Texas Tech wide receiver Caleb Douglas is expected to visit the Texans ahead of next month’s seven-round draft in Pittsburgh. A native of Houston and a graduate of Hightower High School, the move won’t count as a top-30 visit against the Texans but will instead serve as part of the local prospect day.

Last season, while serving as the Red Raiders’ No. 1 weapon en route to a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance, Douglas caught 54 passes for 846 yards and seven touchdowns. For his career, the 6-foot-3 weapon finished with 135 passes for 2,031 yards and 16 touchdowns between his time at Texas Tech and Florida.
Last month at the NFL scouting combine, Douglas ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, a top-six time among all receivers at the event. He also posted a broad jump of 10-foot-6 and finished with a 31.5-inch vertical jump.
The Texans could target a receiver late on Day 3, so depending on where Douglas lands, he could be an option with one of Houston’s eight draft picks. After last season, expectations are high for the Iowa State duo of Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins entering Year 2, while the return of speedster Tank Dell should add a bit more validity to the passing game.
The Texans will look to build off a 12-win campaign in 2026.
