The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a disappointing finish to their season. An 8-9 finish and a loss in a convoluted tiebreaker knocked the Bucs out of the playoffs. Now Tampa looks to add more pieces to its defense and beyond to help it return to the playoffs in 2026.

DL – A’Shawn Robinson (CAR)

EDGE – Al-Quadin Muhammad (DET)

LB – Alex Anzalone (DET)

Subtractions:

WR – Mike Evans (SF)

RB – Rachaad White (WSH)

CB – Jamel Dean (PIT)

DL – Logan Hall (HOU)

1-15: Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami (FL)

Adding more pass rush is a key priority for the Bucs. Mesidor is a polished sack artist. He is just a tad on the older side. Mesidor will be a 25-year old rookie.

2-46: C.J. Allen, LB, Georgia

Allen has fallen a tad out of favor in the draft process. And we will get zero testing numbers from him. But Lavonte David has retired, and Alex Anzalone is oft-injured. Getting a true MIKE will be helpful.

3-77: Max Klare, TE, Ohio State

Tight end isn’t a priority need. Especially after re-signing Cade Otton. But getting Klare in the 3rd feels like a good move. A lot of teams seem to be running more 12 personnel.

The Buccaneers add more defensive players, improving the team’s depth. Now they must hope Baker Mayfield plays up to his talent levels again. Otherwise, HC Todd Bowles may be on his way out.
