TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Arizona Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. is hosting his fifth annual charity basketball game in Tempe on May 16.
The event will begin with a free community day from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., open to the public. There will be a variety of family-friendly activities and food options.
Two pre-games will feature local basketball talent before the main event.
A girls’ high school showcase game will begin at 11:30 a.m., featuring Arizona athletes in partnership with Moballin Training. Then, a boys’ high school showcase game will follow at noon.
The celebrity basketball game will tip off at 1 p.m., featuring Wilson alongside celebrity guests, athletes and entertainers. The money raised from the celebrity basketball tournament will go directly to Fostering Champions and Make a Difference Foundation.
“It’s a special moment, coming from where I’m from back home in Montgomery, Alabama, you know, you didn’t have these type of events where you can go for free and have a good time as kids. I feel like that’s something that I harp on in any event that I do,” Wilson Sr. said.
The event will be held at Corona Del Sol High School. Tickets are $10 per person.
