The Miami Dolphins enter the 2026 NFL Draft with plenty of roster needs following a major ripping off the proverbial band aid this offseason. But, hey! They have plenty of draft picks to try to find some of those short and long-term solutions, with seven picks in the first three rounds.

The Dolphins need to get better on the offensive line, add some impactful edge rushers, and find playmakers at cornerback and safety, among other areas. Included among them now is wide receiver. The release of Tyreek Hill and trade of Jaylen Waddle to Denver have turned a once electric WR room into a very forgettable one quickly.

As such, wide receiver could be among those seven picks when the Dolphins are on the clock next month. In fact, A to Z Sports NFL draft analyst Tyler Forness has Miami going VERY aggressively at the wide receiver position, taking two wideouts in their first three picks in Rounds 1 and 2 in his latest mock draft.

Forness has Miami taking LSU CB Mansoor Delane with the 11th overall pick, and it’s one that I cannot argue with in any way. Delane is arguably the top cornerback in this year’s draft and would instantly slot in as a difference maker on the outside for the Dolphins.

“The Dolphins have a lot of holes on their roster,” Forness wrote of Delane. “New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is going through the beginning of the rebuild process, and they need talent. Delane is an excellent cornerback prospect with plus man coverage skills that will thrive in Jeff Hafley’s defense.”

Miami next pulls the trigger on Louisville WR Chris Bell with pick No. 30. From covering the Hurricanes, Bell had one of the most impressive performances of the season against the Hurricanes’ formidable defense. He had nine catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns, his third straight game of 135+ receiving yards. He has an NFL-ready frame and great length at 6-2, 222 pounds, something Miami desperately needs more of in their WR room. However, he is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered during the 2025 season.

“After the Jayden Waddle trade, wide receiver is a big hole for the Dolphins,” Forness wrote. “There is a chance they wait until day two like the Green Bay Packers have done for years due to Sullivan’s ability with the position. However, Bell might be too good to pass up. He profiles similarly to A.J. Brown in size, play style, and ability. They can wait for him to recover from his torn ACL due to taking on nearly $100 million in dead cap over the next two years after cutting Tua Tagovailoa.”

However, the Dolphins weren’t done there. Forness had them taking UConn WR Skyler Bell with pick No. 43.

That’s where I would differ with Forness on this pick. With a good pair of edge rushers on the board with R Mason Thomas from Oklahoma and UCF’s Malachi Lawrence, I would turn the focus back to finding more pass rushing juice with that pick. Both excel in getting after the passer more than they do with stopping the run, and while you certainly want balance there, the Dolphins simply need to find more guys that can get into the backfield after signing Josh Uche this offseason on a one-year deal.

We’ll find out soon enough how the Dolphins will go, with the NFL Draft less than four weeks away in Pittsburgh.
