Is Aaron Rodgers married? Kentucky Derby 2025 video sparks speculation
Is Aaron Rodgers married? A video shot by the Courier Journal at the Barnstable Brown Derby Even Gala ahead of the 2025 Kentucky Derby has sparked speculation.
Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick run in the same political circles these days.
After staying clear of politics for years, the former couple are very open in who they support. The former Green Bay Packers quarterback has stepped into this world of late, even being considered a vice presidential nominee for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. last year during his campaign.
Rodgers continues to be a vocal advocate of Kennedy, now the country’s health and human services secretary. Patrick, the retired race car driver, meanwhile, was on the campaign trail for then-candidate Donald Trump last fall and recently on Capitol Hill in support of the release of the Make America Healthy Again Commission Report by Kennedy.
They’re also regulars on similar podcasts like former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s.

But don’t expect to see them together on any podcast or political event after Patrick’s latest claims about Rodgers and their relationship, which ended in 2020.
Patrick has offered glimpses of their past from her viewpoint and she did again in a sit-down interview with former ESPN personality Sage Steele on the “Sage Steele Show” podcast. In the interview, Patrick talked about entering the political space, voting for the first time in her life in 2024, the importance of her mental, physical and spiritual health, and living in the public eye. But she also dove into her breakup with Rodgers.
Asked by Steele what the most pain she’s ever experienced in her life, Patrick said “the breakup with Aaron in 2020.”
“It was sudden,” said Patrick, who dated Rodgers from 2018-20. “Felt like it was my life, when you live with someone, it was your whole life. … It’s your mailing address. It’s like everything. And because of the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive so that wore me down to nothing.”
Patrick didn’t go into detail about what made it emotionally abusive and she wasn’t pressed on it. Rodgers has not commented on their relationship. Rodgers previously said on her Pretty Intense podcast when they were dating that Patrick provided “steady energy” to their house and called her “a peacemaker.” Sometimes you fight for it, but you’re a peacemaker,” he said.
The two were public about their relationship in their more than two years together, posting on social media about their world travels and attending sporting events together, including courtside at several Milwaukee Bucks games. They also lived together in Malibu, California.
But behind the curtain, Patrick said people gradually didn’t recognize her over her sudden lack of confidence that came from the relationship.
And when it was over, “everything was torn to bits.”
“He leaves a trail of blood,” Patrick alleged, without going into further detail about what she meant. “I don’t think I’m saying too much, you know earth-shattering stuff. There’s been enough out there.”
It was a stark contrast from when she called him “kind,” “thoughtful” and “super smart” during her appearance on “The Rachael Ray Show” in 2018.
The end of the relationship, however, was a blessing in disguise, she said.
“It gave me the greatest gift, the greatest gift, which was myself,” Patrick said. “You know it gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”
The trailblazing race car driver said in hindsight the writing was on the wall.
“I just say I’m built for hard things,” Patrick said about initially wanting to make it work and not give up. “I can handle hard things. I just saw it as a hard thing. My nature is to try harder and do more.”
Patrick is the latest ex of Rodgers to go into detail about their relationships with the four-time NFL MVP. And it hasn’t been flattering for Rodgers, who is now in a new “serious” relationship with a woman named Brittani.
Shailene Woodley, an actress who was engaged to Rodgers shortly after the quarterback called it quits with Patrick in 2020, didn’t leave anything for interpretation in her interview with Outside Magazine last year. After a whirlwind romance with Rodgers, Woodley and the quarterback called off the engagement in February 2022.
Woodley felt like she lost her soul, self, happiness and joy, she told the magazine. She called it a “toxic situation.”
“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry,” Woodley told the publication. “It was not right. But it was beautiful.”
Rodgers played for the Packers for 18 years, 15 as the starter and leading Green Bay to the Super Bowl after the 2010 season. He spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets. He’s currently a free agent and deciding whether to play for a 21st season, presumably for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
