The Green Bay Packers were looking the part of a Super Bowl contender last season before injuries made their season fall apart. Tucker Kraft was one of the first dominoes of injuries, going down with a torn ACL.
Kraft, who was originally the No. 78 overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has become a legitimate star within the Packers’ offense. Having him go down had a major negative impact on the Green Bay offense.
In the eight games he was able to play, Kraft caught 32 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns. He was on track for a huge breakout season in year three.
While it has been awhile since the Packers offered a new update about Kraft’s recovery, that update has finally been shared.
Green Bay Packers Give Major Tucker Kraft Update
Matt LaFleur, the head coach in Green Bay, spoke out with an update about Kraft while speaking at the Annual League Meeting. Fans will like the update.
“He’s been around quite a bit. Watching him train and rehab and go through that process, he’s gonna be a big focal point of our offense,” LaFleur said.
He also added that Kraft is “right on schedule” on his road to recovery.
Over the last three years, Kraft has become one of the better tight ends in the NFL. He has also become a favorite target for star quarterback Jordan Love. Getting him back to full health will be crucial for the Packers’ chances of bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay.
Kraft has played in 42 career games over the last three years with the Packers. He has racked up 113 receptions, 1,551 yards, and 15 touchdowns.
What Have the Packers Done So Far This Offseason?
Outside of having Kraft and Micah Parsons come back healthy early in the 2026 season, there are still questions surrounding Green Bay.
So far this offseason, the Packers have seen quite a few key players from 2025 leave town. A few of those players are wide receiver Romeo Doubs, linebacker Quay Walker, pass rusher Rashan Gary, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, quarterback Malik Willis, and offensive lineman Rasheed Walker.
Brian Gutekunst has only brought in three outside players. He traded with the Indianapolis Colts for linebacker Zaire Franklin and dipped into free agency for both defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and return specialist Skyy Moore.
It will be interesting to see what the rest of the offseason has in store for Green Bay. Thankfully, this news about Kraft is good for the Packers and gives hope that he should be ready for Week 1.
