For all the moves the New England Patriots have made this offseason, the one guy that fans everywhere seem to want is Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. The Pats have been involved in rumors regarding a potential trade involving Brown for months now, and it doesn’t seem like there’s any end in sight.

At this point, it seems like, if Brown is going to get traded, it won’t happen until later this offseason. With a new batch of league meetings getting underway on Sunday, Eagles’ general manager Howie Roseman was asked about Brown, and he shot down the notion that the team is considering trading him.

“I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story. I, unfortunately, don’t have a home under a rock,” Roseman said. “My answer to any question on A.J. Brown is A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles … Anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I’m going to go right back to that answer. But I understand the interest. I put on TV and I see that there’s interest, but my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Roseman’s comments shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. For the time being, Brown is still in Philadelphia, so should no trade come to fruition this offseason, the team wants to make sure it’s on good terms with the star pass catcher. It’s clear, though, that the Eagles have at least explored the possibility of moving on from Brown this offseason.

Thanks to the structure of Brown’s contract, he isn’t going to get traded until June 1 at this point, as waiting until then would save Philly around $20 million in salary cap space. So while Brown is still a member of the Eagles for now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that will be the case by the time Week 1 of the 2026 campaign rolls around.
