How far up could the Cowboys move in the first round if they packaged the 12th overall pick and their third-round pick in a trade? Who would have to be available for you to trade both picks to move up? – Ramon Trujillo/Santa Barbara , CA
Patrik: The third-round pick just gave up a starting caliber defensive tackle to acquire because they didn’t have a second- or third-round pick at all? My point here is while it’s not impossible to consider, I personally think it’s highly unlikely they send away the one Day 2 pick they currently have, and having given up an impact player to get it, no less. If there’s someone falling that they want to go up and get, my thought is they’ll do what they’ve done recently: mortgage a future pick, not one in 2026. As for who I’d be willing to trade up for, that’s a loaded question, but the answer is probably Sonny Styles if he’s nearing the 10th-overall pick. I have no interest in giving up what’s required to get near or into the top-5.
