The Los Angeles Chargers requested an interview with a member of the Patriots coaching staff
The Philadelphia Eagles will be facing the New England Patriots in joint  practices this summer. This was first reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss on Sunday, and confirmed by ESPN’s Tim McManus on Monday morning.
The Patriots and Eagles have hosted joint practices before. They did so in 2024 during Jerod Mayo’s first season as head coach. As far as this season is concerned, these practices could have a lot of intriguing storylines. There are still rumors swirling surrounding A. J. Brown and the possibility of him going to the Patriots. It has been one of the biggest stories of the off-season.
For now, the two teams will hold my practices together.
Some buzz for 2026 Patriots training camp.
Wouldn’t be shocked to see an attendance record. https://t.co/znIVWQOPbJ

Patriots Have Historically Had Joint Practices
Joint practices are not something new for the Patriots. They have held them since 2010, though only sporadically. They hosted the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints in 2010, and then the Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012. They then hosted the Saints again in 2016, as well as the Chicago Bears. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans were the Patriots’ joint practice opponents in 2017. The team took a one-year hiatus before they redid the joint practices with the Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans in 2019.
More recently, the Eagles practiced with the Patriots in 2024. The Patriots then practiced with the Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings in 2025, in what was a fun preseason slate.
Patriots Have History With Eagles
The Patriots and Eagles have a storied history of facing each other. The Eagles lead the all-time series by an 8-6 margin. However, the two teams are matched up in some major games. They are tied 1-1 in Super Bowl victories, and the Patriots have outscored the Eagles by a 383-370 margin. The last Super Bowl meeting between the two teams saw the Eagles win 41-33.
The most recent regular-season meeting came in the season-opener in September 2023. The Eagles won by a 25-20 margin in what was a difficult year for the Patriots overall.
Now, the Patriots and Eagles will face each other during training camp. This will allow both teams to compete and practice at a high level. One has to think that the Eagles will be a part of the preseason schedule as well. Again, the Brown situation provides a little bit of intrigue. It could be a situation where Brown is playing for the Patriots, and this will be his first chance to see his Eagles teammates.
Of course, we may be getting ahead of ourselves. However, there are plenty of interesting storylines when these two teams meet up with each other. Both franchises have storied histories, and the Eagles in particular have been able to maintain success. There are plenty of playmakers for both teams on both sides of the football.
