The next chapter for Tua Tagovailoa will bring some adversity, and that could be a good or bad thing. After his release from the Miami Dolphins, the focus has been centered on what comes next, and more specifically, if he can stay on the field.

Now with the Atlanta Falcons, new head coach Kevin Stefanski had a lot to say about what the former Dolphins quarterback can do in his system, adding that his biggest concern and question is how he responds to adversity.

“There’s something to be said when you’re fired,” Stefanski said (h/t NFL.com). “I can attest to that. You want to prove people wrong. You have a chip on your shoulder.

“I think where I’m coming into this, where Tua’s coming into this is, listen, this is not exactly how you thought it would go, but guess what, that’s the reality, and how are we gonna respond? I think that’s what he’s made of. You look back his career, you look back at his college career, he’s responded.”

Tagovailoa has been in this kind of spot before, whether it was early in his NFL career or even back at Alabama through injuries. At Alabama, the response was incredible. With the Dolphins, well, not so much.

The good part for him is that he has a real opportunity to play in Atlanta if things go well. However, if he struggles a bit, it’ll be interesting to see what his career looks like after this.
